Soho Loft
New York, NY
This high floor loft in the heart of Soho occupies half of a floor in a building dating to 1895. The loft which has 4 exposures is nestled between two courtyards protecting it from the noises and stimulation of the city and creating a European feel. The design furthers the idea of a protected sanctuary by pairing a rich palette of wood, onyx, steel and richly upholstered panels with the original character of the exposed brick and heavy timber beams. Carefully considered details including floating cabinetry, sliding solid louvered panels and a glazed planted wall in the primary suite provide visual interest with and an Asian sensitivity. Hidden, are extensive acoustical assemblies, AV and other technologies that create a very smart home that is ideal for listening or producing great music.
