Hillside House framed and sheathed

Project Update
Hillside House framed and sheathed

The Hillside House with its impressive stone walls and glazed cantilevered living room, currently surrounded by bold fall foliage, is fully framed and sheathed.

Siding installation has commenced on the main gabled volumes which, responding to the rural setting, are clad in lapped cedar siding and anchored by local Connecticut fieldstone. The main volumes juxtapose the glazed, flat-roofed living room pavilion which hovers over a natural rock outcropping to connect the interior to the outdoors and capture the extensive views beyond. The large windows, protected by deep overhangs allow daylight to filter in all year.

Excavation and blasting has also started for the infinity pool and interior finishes are underway. Construction is expected to be completed for summer 2021.
