We are thrilled to announce the completion of the Shared Office project in Manhattan, a 17,000-square-foot penthouse workplace and adjoining roof deck that houses multiple companies. Designed to encourage people back to the office and to share ideas with other peers, it features a central “piazza” that opens onto generous shared and individual spaces such as conference rooms, lounge areas, a coffee bar, and dedicated "incubator" and “focus" rooms.
This elegant entrepreneurial enclave rewards occupants with an intimate library space and lounge with Hudson River views. Rich, textured furnishings and materials bring warmth, comfort, and personality to the space.
The library features individual focus rooms that allow for uninterrupted quiet work and study. The intimately sized focus rooms are each activated by unique wallpapers.
Wood louvered walls, fabricated from leftover or undesirable pieces of Birch wood were selected for their inherent variety in color. They act as both filter and screen, balancing transparency with privacy while adding warmth and acoustical properties.
The wood louvers also unify the disparate companies occupying the spaces and tie the workplace together, while the slatted openings in the wood act as windows into the unique worlds in which each occupant resides.
Natural light from four exposures and large skylights floods into the spaces. Multiple layers of glass walls and partitions allow for the light to enter into all of the interiors.
The generous conference rooms feature wood louvered ceilings and softly textured curtains and furnishings to create welcoming and comfortable meeting spaces while treating the rooms acoustically and framing the grand views of the city.
The central piazza connects to a shaded outdoor space for working, socializing, and cross-pollinating with like-minded colleagues.
